Last Sunday was a Chicken Powered Team Kid's Trail! We got our kiddos to come out and enjoy a nice hike, then pizza & snacks after :)
It started kinda drizzly, but got sunny and warmed up!
This Sunday we're back with another great Hagerstown urban trail - it's National Pretzel Day! So come get twisted - we're kicking off by J's Diner - sadly, they do *not* offer that epic twistable, rippable, dippable holiday treat :( but they have coffee.
It's supposed to be mid 60's temperature with sun and breeze - it's Goldie Locks, not too hot, not too cold :)

However, Sunday September 14, 1862 was witness to the little known and uncelebrated drunkest hash in American History - and we will be re-enacting that momentous trail exactly as it was layed in 1862.
History is *amazing* :)

The next day, the hare bucked off the poultryman on the way to the market, leading to a giant Hungover Bunny running amok scattering eggs all over the trail to the market. Last Sunday was Hot Hot Hot - We ran the Hump City Community College trails and surrounding area and earned 6.9 credit hours of Adventure Run 101, someone was a teacher's pet and buttered up the hare with a shiny apple, and we all had a fun time and enjoyed the new warmer weather!
This Sunday is for anyone who wants to get a good social run or training run and experience adventure trail running instead of paying $101.70 for the Hub City Half - it's the inaugural Hump City Run-Run Humpathon - a mixed terrain urban, park, path trail that's designed to change scenery, take surprise routes, and stay engaging - we don't have any t-shirts to hand out, it's just fast-paced and fun :)

The thickness won't end there because on-after is at Cafe Italia - well known for colossal pizzas so big, they can't fit on the table and are mounted on a tray jack nearby - So come out, it'll be so much fun!

Last Sunday, Granny in the Streets Control Freak in the Sheets, delivered a perfect run-run trail through the parks & periphery of Williamsport. The theme was tootsie pops but we didn't find how many licks it takes - we did luck out that it was sunny and beautiful, and awesome running temp.
This Sunday we set our horizons to Hump Rd on the West End - it's our destiny to hump our run-run to it, then fast zig-zag our adventure through the narrow roads & alleys of the west end downtown zone.
Afterward we have the option to recharge & socialize at Las 3 Hermanas, right there at our start-end location.

Last Sunday, the sun came out for us for Groundhog Day, then went away - but we had an epic adventure trail! So epic in fact that Cockigami miscalculated and instead of laying a very respectable 6.9 miler, we humped a girthy 9.6 - but the trail was laid so well that everyone was happy and afterward tacos, soup, and tamales were enjoyed by all :D

Last weekend was Hump City Sunday Run-Run Hash House Harrier's first Annual General Meeting (AGM) - On Saturday we ran around Lake Habeeb and grilled out, on Sunday we ran by Hancock's lagoon (spoiler for those not there, it's a sewage lagoon! Why would they call sewage ponds a LAGOON!?)
This week we're going back to firsts - Hump City started on the 1st Sunday of last year - we got snowed out, but that's okay - Our Run-Run #1 trail was planned and ran at Antietam Battle Field on a cold grey flurrying day - Now we're at Run-Run #49 and reliving that inaugural run but this time it'll be warmer (30ish degrees) and sunny! (mostly sunny according to Accuweather)

We had such a fun quintessential run-fun trail last Sunday! Fresh with an *extra* hour of sleep, and it *was* sunny and turned out super warm - Thank you to everyone that attended and please please consider haring a trail - there are only 8 more Sundays left this year!

About a dozen Sunday Run-Run regulars are going to be at the West Virginia Interhash at New River Gorge, WV and adventure running out there this weekend.
I couldn't find a hare to scout and have a trail ready for this Sunday and then only have 1 or 2 people show up to run it - But we'll be back to run in Hagerstown on Nov 3!

Last Sunday's trail kicked off with Spicy Bloody Mary's to toast Hare's Away and the 23,000 souls lost at battle along the route our intrepid hare ran us! It was a comfortable sunny day for a run and nice enough to On-After outside on the back patio of Captain Bender's.
This Sunday, We are back in Hagerstown for another fast and curvy urban style trail - Of course I'm always scouting those hidden paths and alleys off the main sidewalks to surprise & delight the pack as well as to keep them guessing where trail goes next because I only have a ~10 minute head-start!
I couldn't come up with a theme for this week's trail - the options at holidays-and-observances.com were too fabulous to choose from, such as:
International Sloth Day, National Brandied Fruit Day, National Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day, National Suspenders Day, World Osteoporosis Day, World Toy Camera Day...
But I think this week's trail will be fabulous by itself - just drink milk, don't run fast, blow your favorite teacher a kiss, etc.
Afterward - recharge, eat, and socialize over pupusas and tamales (and tacos and other El Salvadorian & Guatemalan fare) at El Eden.

More Info: With it being 13th day in the month of Halloween and ghosts and gore being the norm, let's do a Run-Run to remember the bloodiest day on American soil. The hare will provide Bloody Mary's for before trail (if you dare!) and Captain Benders also has them for circle out back at ON-After!

Last Sunday someone let the animals out of their cages in northern Hagerstown - it was National Urban Wildlife Refuge Day - just the usual traffic disturbances and nature gone wild things happened as the pack was unleashed to follow marks and run free!
A brand new *fawn* opened her eyes to the world of adventure trail running - she's from out of town, but we hope that next time she visits the Hump City, she'll join us in running another unrehearsed trail and yelling, "On-On!"
This coming Sunday is *National Orange Wine & National Noodle Day*.

Wear your favorite animal print gear to gallop, trample, or prowl through the streets and 'preserves' of Hub ^Hump City. Last trail was a fun tour of the historic Shepherdstown scene as we hit up park trail, some rail, hidden little neighborhoods, and a race through downtown and by the university.
Next trail kicks off on Dual Highway at the parking lot of the Suppreme Buffet - it's convenient and easy to find, with lots of directions to lay a fun trail. We'll be running zig zag down streets and through the stairs and alleys of downtown Hagerstown as far as the City Park. It'll be lots of fun! Do let me know if you want the 5k option.

I'm bringing my running shoes and a volleyball - we can already feel the season changing so let's take advantage of what remains of Summer with some fitness & fun!

Last week was a shady run through new neighborhoods in Boonsboro - lots of zig zagging, no one could guess where the trail was going - after, some of us indulged bottomless mimosas at the Branded Chophouse.
Some super indulged at the antique shop there.
This week we're meeting at Hagerstown Regional park to run their disc golf trails - and wow what a well endowed park! I'm excited! Then cruise through some virgin neighborhoods - and hopefully hit up some volleyball after!
Sunday 10ish is supposed to be mid-70's and mostly sunny so nice and not too hot!
Come out and run with us and let's try to get some 4 on 4 volleyball going afterward :)
