Ms. Graves began dancing at the age of three, training in a variety of styles, including ballet, tap, clogging, and jazz. She is a graduate of Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, where she was a proud member of the Sundancers Drill Team. During her time with the Sundancers, she served in several leadership roles, including Social Committee Spirit Leader, President, and Senior Lieutenant. She was also a member of the team when they earned a National Championship title in 2014.
In 2021, Ms. Graves graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education. While at SFA, she was a member of XTE Dance Honors Society and served as Treasurer. One of the most meaningful experiences of her college career was performing with Dancers Against Cancer (DAC). Through DAC, she was able to combine her passion for dance with service by helping raise funds for individuals affected by cancer and organizations supporting cancer research.
Ms. Graves began her teaching career at Stafford Municipal School District in Stafford, Texas, where she served as the director of the award-winning Sensations Dance Team and taught both middle and high school dance. She also served as the Color Guard Director for the award-winning Mighty Spartan Marching Band, helping lead the program during a historic season that included its first-ever appearance at the State Marching Contest.
Ms. Graves brings experience in a wide variety of dance styles, choreography, dance production, performance, judging, and dance education. She is passionate about helping dancers grow not only in their technique and artistry but also in their confidence, leadership, and love for dance.
Ms. Thomas began dancing at the age of 7 studying classical Vaganova style Ballet with the Marina Almayeva School of Classical Ballet. Her training contributes greatly to her technique, movement style, and influences her choreography. She attended Byron Nelson High School where she performed with her drill team all four years and held leadership roles for the last two, serving as captain for her senior year.
After graduating, she attended Texas State University where she was a member of the Texas State Strutters. She was selected to be a part of the jazz elite and pom squad groups and was awarded the best technique award as a Freshman.
She then relocated back to DFW to complete her degree in Dance Education at Texas Woman’s University. During this time, she also spent a year on TexasLive Lonestars team where she was awarded Performer of The Year. She completed her student teaching at Keller High School and is grateful to rejoin Keller ISD, and super excited to join the Fossil Ridge Dance Department.
She will serve as the Assistant Director of Sun Dancers and Head Director of the JV Golden Rays. She also leads the middle school Panther Pride program.
