Dr. Rosas-Acosta is a tenured professor at The University of Texas at El Paso and the founder of the SUMO Laboratory for Cellular and Molecular Biology. With more than two decades of peer-reviewed research focused on the SUMOylation system, he developed a novel approach to targeting the SUMO pathway for cancer treatment, which led to the founding of SUMOdulon, Inc. in 2023.

"After taking Molecular Cell Biology with Dr. Rosas-Acosta, I was so intrigued by the subject and wanted to keep learning more. I joined the lab as a volunteer to work with others who also shared this same passion. I am grateful to be able to help in different experiments to grow my skill sets and to see all the ideas I learned in the classroom come to life. I am currently a senior and hope to apply to medical school and continue with research once I graduate. In my free time, I love to bake, hike with my dog, and watch movies."
