Solaro

Logging In

When creating your Solaro account, you will first be directed to this main page. Enter your library barcode number and click request. You will be given a unique (and usually fun) username and password. Make sure you remember your username and password!

Home Page

When you first log in, your home page might not have the courses you need. To change that, you can click on the "Add Course" button or select "My Account" from the three line button on the top right and navigate to "Select Courses."

Choosing Courses

Solaro gives you the option to choose whichever courses you would like to study. To find courses for your grade level, select your grade from the drop down. Once you have selected your grade, the "Select Courses" screen will change to show new options. Choose your courses and click "save."

Home Page

After selecting your courses, your home page will automatically be updated to show you the new courses you have chosen.

Studying

Open a course to see the topics and assessments that are offered. 

Practice

Practice questions and tests will walk you through what you could possibly see in a real test. Solaro will let you finish the test/practice, then show you your score. If you answered a question incorrectly, you will see it in red so you can review the correct answer. You can try the practice questions three times.

Creating Notes and Flashcards

To create a note or flashcard, highlight the part of the text (images will copy as well) that you would like to save. You will see an option pop up to "Add Note" or "Add Flashcard."

Notes

Notes will show up automatically under the "Notes" section in each course. You can open your notes to review or you can print them off to study from as well. The notes will also be linked back to the original lesson that the note is from for further reference.

Flashcards

The topic that you copied the flashcard from will show at the top of the card so you can reference that less or topic if you need more review. The flashcard itself works as a question, and you can shuffle through the flashcards you have created.

Flashcards

After you have answered the question, you can flip over the card to view the answer. You can then mark how you felt about the content by using the emojis on the middle of the card. If you find the card didn't help or needs to be altered, you can either edit or delete the card as well.

Assessment

Assessments are a great tool to see how you are progressing in your studies. This page will show you the practice and test results of each test you have taken. It will also show you if you haven't finished a test as well. To finish a test or to review a completed test, you can click on the "Finish Up" or "Completed" box under the "Status" tab. 

ToDo List

Solaro will also guide you on the next items that should be completed. It will also list the tasks that you have completed.

Rewards

Studying can have an added element of fun. Solaro gives you stars for completing readings, using the practice quizzes, and completing tests. You can redeem your stars for new items to dress up your avatar.

Creating Your Avatar

You can customize your avatar by changing the face, clothes, and pose. New items you have redeemed with your stars will show up under the "Clothes" tab on the left side of the screen.
