Logging In
Logging In
PressReader makes you sign in twice to access their content. The first login is the standard login for most Marigold resources.Select "Library Accounts" to move to the next screen.

Enter your Marigold barcode and password to access PressReader.
Logging In
At this stage, you will be able to see previews of content but not full editions of newspapers or magazines. Click "Sign In" on the top right bar to access full editions.

Select "Library or Group" from the options listed.

Type "Marigold" into the search bar or scroll through the list of libraries and groups. Click on "Marigold Library System".
Logging In
Re-type your Marigold library card number and password. You must select "I agree" to be able to access PressReader. This box just means that PressReader and the public library system can communicate to ensure your account is in good standing. Good standing would mean that there are no fines on your account and your account has not expired.
Searching
Main Page
Once you have logged in, you will have access to the main page. From here, you can scroll through the page to find collections of magazines and newspapers. Collections are created by subject for example: Art, News, History & Science, Travel & Culture, Gaming, Fashion, and more.
Sorting the Main Page
To sort the results in the collections on the main page, click the three vertical dots on the top right bar. You can then sort by alphabet, most popular, and recent.

Search
Use the magnifying glass on the top bar to search for a title or subject that you are looking for.
Advanced Search
If you are unable to find what you're looking for with a regular search, select "Advanced Search" below the search bar. You can then further refine your search in order to get more relevant search results. If you select "Show Options", you can use Boolean operators (using the words AND, NOT, OR).
Search Results
Your results will show a list of articles that contain your search terms. Clicking on the article preview will show you the full article, then clicking on the title of the publication will take you directly to where the article was published.

You can sort your results by relevance or date by using the options in the left bar.

Using the catalogue, select your collection.

PressReader has access to content from over 150 countries. You can see from this picture that not all countries are available to search. Not every collection will have content from every country.

PressReader has access to content in over 60 languages. You can see from this picture that not all languages are available to search. Not every collection will have content in all languages.
Accessing Content
Selecting a magazine will take you to this page where you can view in a different format, select a different edition (clicking on the date, in this case 1 Mar 2024 will give you access to a calendar where you can select a different edition), and open the magazine. If available, you can also have the magazine read to you.
Accessing Content
Use the arrow on the right side of the screen or click and drag your mouse to change the page. Using the scroll wheel on your mouse will zoom in on the page.
Calendar
The calendar on the left side of the page shows the history of release dates for the magazine. Clicking on these dates will bring you to that edition of the publication.
More
Clicking "More" underneath the calendar will let you share or print part or all of the publication. You can select pages in whatever order you choose.
Newspapers
Accessing newspapers is very similar to magazines. The main difference is how to access articles and how often a new edition comes out. You can also view the list of journalists who contributed pieces to the edition.
Viewing Articles
Each article is isolated so it is easier to read and access. Click on the article to zoom in.
