League Rules
1. No coaches are permitted.
2. All spectators must stay outside the fences that surround the courts.
3. Appropriate language is required by all athletes and spectators. We promote a family atmosphere at Summer Slam.
Game Format
1. Games are scheduled to run approximately 35 minutes.
2. The first possession of the game and any overtime will be determined by a coin flip. The team that calls the coin flip in overtime will be opposite of the team that called the flip to start the game.
3. There will be two 16 minute running halves and a one minute halftime.
Game Rules
1. Made baskets are counted in 3’s and 2’s.
2. One FT on a shooting foul – the made FT counts as 2 points.
3. Each change of possession (missed FT, turnover) must be taken back past the 3 point line.
4. Violations and common non shooting foul must be checked before play resumes.
5. Missed FT’s rebounded by the defending team is a change of possession. Missed FT's rebounded by the shooting team does not require ball to be taken back past the 3 point line. The shooting team can immediately try to score the basketball.
6. Each made basket or free throw must to be in bounded from underneath the hoop. Once in bounded the ball must be taken back behind the 3 point line before scoring can be pursued.
7. Side outs are checked in at the nearest spot out.
8. Substitutions will be called by the scorekeeper every 4 minutes of running clock.
9. At the one minute mark of the second half, all fouls will result in a one shot free throw - the made FT counts as 2 points.
10. Overtime will be determined by sudden death. If no team scores within two minutes, the game will end in a tie.
