Frequently asked questions:

1. Is the event in-person?
Yes. Prof. Lee and Prof. Barak will be at SNU, giving the lectures in person.


2. Are all talks in English?
The three main talks will be given in English (Prof. Jason D. Lee is not Korean.).


3. What level of mathematics will the course require? Can undergraduates follow?
The target audience for Prof. Barak and Prof. Ryu's talks is undergraduate and graduate students. Prof. Lee’s talk assumes some background knowledge of learning theory, so Prof. Ryu will give a pre-study seminar from 9:30 am–10:45 am on Aug. 5th and 6th, briefly covering the relevant background. The abstracts and the prerequisites of the main talks are provided in the “Abstracts” tab.


4. Will the talks be recorded and shared?
No. The event is a purely offline event. We have no plans to stream or record the lectures.


5. Will lunch be provided?
Yes, registered attendees will be provided a lunch ticket (식권) that can be used in the student cafeteria at building 75-1 (3식당), one for each day.
