The summer I turned pretty book 1, is a book about love, friendship, and growing up. Belly who is a main character in the book is struggling to figure out who she is and what she wants. She is also dealing with the complicated issues with her family friends who are  Jerimiah and Conrad.

Conrad is the older brother he is more moody and mysterious, and Jerimiah is more younger care-free and outgoing. Belly is drawn to both brothers and is finding her life to be more complicated having feelings for both, but she must decide who she would want to be with in the future. Over the summer Belly learns that she needs to be honest to herself and others around her in order to survey peace in her life.
