Thursday, July 8th
9am-10:30am EST/Boston Time
The purpose of the pre-orientation session is to begin thinking about crucial elements of the overall project. Specifically, we will use this session to discuss strategies for understanding client challenges, needs, and goals; brainstorm potential project outputs; and sketch the steps needed to deliver an output to the client.
Helsinki Documents (see email for access)
9:00am: Welcome & Introduction to the BKC Team
9:05am: Brainstorming Inputs
Building upon Sandra Cortesi's presentation, we want folks to think about the kinds of outputs that would be ideal for this project. To that end, we will breakout into 4 rooms and use a Google doc to jot down ideas and what we think an ideal output for this project would be. This document should help participants begin to consider the contours of the output. (15 minutes)
Participants will return to the main room for a larger discussion of about what might be the best outputs for this project.
9:30: Building the Path Activity
Through this activity, participants will determine what are the things they need to make the output possible over the next week.
10:10am: Brainstorming Questions for Helsinki
Based on first 2 activities, participants will be put in groups the discuss and determine what questions they would need more information on.
Will use a Google doc to put these on so people can elaborate/add to questions.
10:25am: Final questions and next steps.
