SDGs 7 實際案例| Case Study of SDGs 7
E-Dina, a renewable energy start-up in Bogota, Colombia, and Wunderman Thompson Colombia of the WPP Group have teamed up to launch the portable WaterLight. 500 cc of salt water is placed into the device, and the electrolytes of the salt water react with the magnesium and copper in the device to produce electricity that lasts up to 45 days. In addition to lighting, the WaterLight can also be used to charge small appliances such as cell phones or radios through the USB port on the device.
In principle, a WaterLight can provide about 5,600 hours of energy over its lifetime - the equivalent of more than 230 days or two to three years of use - and has the advantage of not being limited to daytime use or sunny or cloudy weather compared to a solar lamp.
With the help of WaterLight, we are turning our abundant natural resources into a safe, sustainable source of power for night fishing, working, reading, and more, not just in the Guajira Peninsula, but in other coastal developing countries and regions around the world.
#2 Projext
Projext has partnered with Tree Nation, a non-profit organization that plants two trees when a consumer buys a Scooter One, in the hope of neutralizing the carbon footprint of the production chain.
Meanwhile, Projext's selection of materials and logistics will be based on the lowest carbon emission, renewable materials or energy sources. In the future, Projext will also be purchasing "green power" to make the entire supply chain more eco-friendly and to achieve the goal of "net zero carbon".
Projext believes that while this issue may seem a little far from our lives, it is in fact an issue that is relevant to you and me, and that perhaps thinking differently and starting with energy conservation is the best thing to do. In addition, when purchasing everyday products and clothing, choosing companies or products that emphasize the relevant issues is also a good way to care for the earth and respect energy.
