About Me
I work at the Institute of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Applied Geophysics at Charles University in Prague. I am a geomorphologist with a strong interest in the processes of landscape evolution.
I am broadly interested in tectonic, lithologic, and climatic controls on landscape evolution; sediment transport; fluvial processes and floods; and the role of landslides in topographic changes. Earlier, I focused on understanding the geomorphic evolution of Peninsular India (with an emphasis on the Deccan Traps). Furthermore, I studied sediment transport and erosion characteristics in large Peninsular Indian basins in the context of the present warming climate and anthropogenic pressure. Now, I am slowly transitioning my study areas to the Himalayan and European montane landscapes to investigate similar problems. I've published as a lead author in prestigious journals such as Catena, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Hydrology, and Geoscience Frontiers, among others.
At present, I serve on the Editorial Boards of Science of the Total Environment, CATENA, and The Innovation Geoscience.
