A food chain is the process in which energy transported to each organism by them consuming each other. A food chain will always start with a producer that is an autotroph, plants. Autotroph means that they produce their own energy through photosynthesis.

The Food Web:

While a food web is a series of food chains linked to show who eats who in an ecosystem. As you may see the Sumatran tiger is what is known as an Apex predator. This is since no organism hunts for it. Its at the top of the food web.

Yellow Arrows = Energy being transported to each organism

Pink = Omnivores

Levels of Consumers:

Consumers come in various levels, primary, secondary etc. For this food web the levels of consumers are:

Bears: Primary and secondary consumer

Sumatran Orangutan: Primary consumer

Sumatran Buffalo: Primary consumer

Algae Eating fish: Primary Consumer

Sambar Deer: Primary consumer

Chital: Primary consumer

Sumatran tiger: Secondary and tertiary consumer
