Phoolon Ki Chadar , 2018,New media video

A pink wedding dupatta slowly unravels across the screen - my grandmother's, from her wedding day, now fraying at its edges. Multiple videos layer over each other, all visible at once, like memories bleeding through time. The gota work catches light in different moments, different angles, the same fabric seen and seen again. My mother's voice rises through it all, singing a traditional wedding song, the kind that gets passed from one generation to the next. This is what's left: pink silk, golden thread, a voice remembering. An archive of celebration before it disappears completely.
