"ALL THIS IS A DREAM. Still examine it by a few experiments. Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature; and in such things as these, experiment is the best test of such consistency"- Michael Faraday
"The interface is the device"- Herbert Kroemer [2000 Nobel Prize in Physics]
WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE
About Me
I am Sukanta Nandi, currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering and the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, Israel. I completed my Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India.
My research lies at the intersection of materials science, computational modeling, and experimental nanophotonics. I am particularly interested in understanding and engineering light-matter interactions in advanced quantum and chalcogenide materials for applications in metaphotonics, mid-infrared optics, and active metasurfaces.
My current work focuses on:
Optical properties and modeling of quantum materials
Mie-resonant meta-atoms and metasurfacesÂ
Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM)
Static and Active mid-infraed metaphotonicsÂ
Single Photon Emitters
Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulation
Optoelectronic Devices
