English is a great tool for global communication. While South Korean public education teach English from elementary school, I actually began to speak and write in English after learning English in the Philippines from 2014 to 2015. As a non-native English speaker who learned English as a foreign language (EFL), I consider the ongoing improvement of my English skills to be essential for effective communication with people worldwide.
To achieve this, I regularly have one-on-one online English lessons. Also, I immerse myself in English by watching Financial Times and Economist's YouTube videos. Particularly, I am a subscriber to Economist, and I often read and listen to their articles using Economist app. Beyond that, I enjoy watching YouTube clips for English learners.
History is a rich source of valuable wisdom and insights. Those who study history gain an understanding of how our ancestors addressed their problems, the reasons behind their decisions, and the consequences of those choices.
Familiarity with these recurring patterns provides history learners with useful insights to develop improved solutions when they encounter challenges. This is why I am interested in history.
I regularly allocate time to familiarize myself with world issues. History has demonstrated that events in one country can significantly impact others, much like butterfly effect. This interconnection has been a consistent theme throughout history, and it remains relevant in today's world. Current events in one part of the globe can swiftly reverberate across other regions.
I firmly believe that comprehending these global issues is essential for individuals, as it helps them in understanding these interconnections and the significant impact they can have on their lives.
I am a big fan of musicals and frequently attend theater productions. What I appreciate most about musicals is the fact that they are live performances. Unlike recorded shows, everyone involved, including the cast, orchestra, and crew, has only one chance to get it right. This unique aspect demands their full concentration, and they put in their utmost effort to showcase the culmination of many hours of practice. I think this is why I have such a strong affinity for musicals, and I am deeply moved when I watch them.
I frequently indulge in musicals, both on my own and occasionally with my mother. When she accompanies me, we like to savor some delightful cuisine before or after the performance. Sometimes, we even make a short visit to museums, art galleries, big malls, or public gardens afterward. I find this to be a delightful way to strengthen our bond while creating lasting memories together. This is also one of the reasons why I have a deep affection for musicals.
