Kendo literally means the way to develop oneself with the katana (Japanese sword), which is a Japanese martial art based on traditional swordsmanship. Practitioners face each other using flexible bamboo swords while wearing protective gear and strike specific locations on their opponents' bodies. Wood swords are also used to practice kendo kata (fixed pattern) and basics. To win in a match, certain requirements have to been met. Our dojo is affilated with Eiseikan, members of Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China, and Yogyakarta Kendo Association, members of Indonesia Kendo Association.

Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu is one of the oldest extant Japanese martial arts, and is revered as a koryu bujutsu, including kenjutsu (sword), naginatajutsu (long pole with blade), bo (stick), and yari (spear). The art has been continuously passed from teacher to student since its founding over 600 years ago by Iizasa Choisai Ienao. Katori Shinto Ryu is an intangible cultural asset of Japan, as designated by the Chiba Prefecture Educational Committee. Our dojo follows Sugawara Sensei's line and is supervised by Adam Wong Sensei (Kyoshi) from Malaysia.
