To go to Shangri-La you must have an official invitation from the Prince. The Prince has an ambassador who travels around to each of the four cities: New York, London, Shanghai, and Delhi. He may stay in one city for a couple days, or he may leave after one day. To see if he is in your city, look at the City News when you first log in.
The prerequisite for getting this invitation is that you must have at least 100,000 experience points and be able to open Almost Impossible cases. Go to every townie and ask “ambassador” in the question box, until one of them tells you that the ambassador is in the Hall of Records at City Hall. Go see him and he’ll say you have to prove yourself to him before the end of the day. Now you have to solve an Almost Impossible case. After you solve the case, you’ll automatically be given an invitation. Now you can go to Shangri-La!
To get to Shangri-La, just board the ship at the docks or the train station and go there. It’ll cost you 5 turns and $5000. Don’t worry, the return trip doesn’t cost you anything except 1 turn, and it can bring you to any city you want to go to. Anyway, when you arrive in Shangri-La, first go to the park in the lower right hand corner and read the poem. Next go to the Prince’s palace and notice that there is a sequence to be entered to pass. Go to every scholar and say “mantra” in the question box. Note down the name (ex. Tammel) and description they give you (ex. long memory and deliberate manner). After you get them all, match them up to the correct animals using the following list:
Hippo- ponderous might and swimming form
Elephant- heavy step and tough hide
Fish- silent language and skin of scales
Ape- quick mind and dexterous hand
Tortoise- long memory and deliberate manner
Tiger- flashing eyes and claws of razor
Crocodile- sly demeanor and snapping jaw
Eagle- sharp cry and a sharper eye
Buffalo- fierce stare and sturdy physique
Serpent- thoughtful style and graceful movement
Now remember that poem you read? It mentioned a bunch of these names the scholars just told you. In the order of that poem, the names are:
1. Tammel
2. Anka
3. Lars
4. Heston
5. Sheba
6. Chibi
7. Tov
8. Nona
9. Phie
10. Shi
Shi will be whatever animal you didn’t get to use yet. Incidentally, these names, when matched up with the correct animal and entered in this sequence on the prince’s door, grant you entrance to his palace. Keep in mind, though, every time you finish a Villain Hunt, the sequence of animals changes, so you’ll have to do it all over again, unless you have something special . . . which you’ll find out about later on. If this is your first visit here, DO NOT start a Villain Hunt with the Prince. Instead, just leave the palace.
