Marine Corps JROTC

MCJROTC MISSION

Our mission is to develop courageous, character driven young adults who possess the attributes of personal responsibility and accountability in order to become model citizens in service to the United States.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

HISTORY

The Marine Corps Junior ROTC Program was established at Sweetwater High School in 1995.  SUHI possesses the only Marine Corps JROTC Program in the Sweetwater High School District.  During our history the unit has been recognized as an Honor school 17 times. This includes the last school year. This recognition goes to the top 10 units in our region which consists of 50 schools located in 13 states, as well as Japan and Guam. Additionally, the unit has been recognized 3 times as the number one unit in the region. Currently, there are 115 cadets in the program.

As a result of donations provided by veterans and veteran organizations, the Marine cadets at SUHI can participate in field trips to MCB Camp Pendleton, MCAGCC Twenty-nine Palms, MCLB Barstow, and MCRD San Diego. No charges or fees are paid by Marine cadets to participate in these activities.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to fund field trips, college scholarships, summer training, or the Raider Competitions for the MCJROTC classroom, please contact Captain Adrian Gutierrez at Adrian.gutierrez@sweetwaterschools.org  (619) 474-9767.
