Title : On the refined `Birch—Swinnerton-Dyer type’ conjectures of Mazur and Tate

Abstract : The conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer, formulated in the 1960s, is one of the most important open problems in modern number theory. In this talk, I will first recall the conjecture and its refinements due to Mazur and Tate, and then report on joint work in progress with Matthew Honnor that proves new results towards the Mazur—Tate conjectures.
