Analysing media products

Analysing media texts is a way of describing and interpreting the characteristics of a media product. To do so the analysis will describe the content, structure and functions of the messages contained within the media text.

It is a higher order skill to be able to do this and is a requirement of the level 2 distinction criteria for the BTEC Creative Media Production course.

You will learn how to do this through a range of activities. Firstly, you will be shown some excellent analysis examples so you can see for yourself how it is done. Then you will practice writing an analysis for yourself.
