Hi everyone! I am a Creative Media, Computing and Business Studies teacher with over 16 years teaching experience. I am head of my department in a secondary school and a Specialist Leader of Education for Computing. In this capacity I have worked with a variety of schools in Bolton and the surrounding areas in a supportive capacity. Most recently I have experience of being an associate assistant headteacher.

My aim is to provide students with fun creative Computing and Media learning opportunities and support teachers in the generation of engaging teaching and learning ideas. Wherever possible I will use free software and apps that are accessible to students both in school and at home and will allow teachers on tight budgets to follow them.

Most tutorials have been created with the whole of KS3 and 4 in mind. Most of these lessons can be given to year 7 through to year 11. With careful use of instructions and language for younger learners through to complex themes that older learners will find engaging and challenging. Meaning that most lessons can be taught to students aged 10 through to 16 with differentiation by outcome.

These lessons can be used to support the teaching and learning of any creative digital computing or art curriculum. However, they are particularly relevant if you are delivering the BTEC Tech in Creative Media Production course (Pearson UK). I deliver these lessons as part of 'component 2a: Workshops' taking the approach of giving students the opportunity to explore all 3 media sectors as suggested in the specification. Before focusing on one sector for component 2b. Our school's chosen sector for 2b is Publishing.
