About me

I did my schooling at St. Mary’s Orphanage and Day School and Kendriya Vidyalaya Ordnance Factory in Dum Dum, Kolkata. This phase of my life was characterized by my love for playing cricket and football, reading books, and playing video games.

After schooling, I moved to Goa to study chemical engineering in BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. Life was very different living with friends in a dormitory. I developed a taste for movies and philosophy during this time. Looking back, I feel that should have been more exploratory and experimental.

I moved to Bangalore and interned as a Business Trainee in Oracle Financial Services Software for half a year. After this, I joined Mu Sigma, where I worked in the Innovation Lab to develop and implement algorithms for machine learning on big data sets. I becane very interested in science, and read a lot of popular science books. I also developed a keen interest in mathematics, and eventually decided to pursue it further.

I did my master's in mathematical modeling at the Erasmus Mundus program "MathMods". This experience broadened my perspectives about societies and cultures. I was really motivated by my master's advisor Prof. Fabio Antonelli. I undertook my thesis in the area of mathematical finance under his guidance.

Following this, I joined the doctoral program in mathematics at Louisiana State University. My primary research is in the area of stochastic analysis. Of late, I have been exploring a variety of interests, particularly arts. I also visited the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications for the Math-to-Industry bootcamp, which was a immense learning experience.
