Work experience
During the last semester of my undergraduate, I worked for six months in Oracle Financial Services as an intern. Following this, I worked for a year and a half in Mu Sigma as a (Senior) Business Analyst. Both positions were based out of Bangalore, India.
Mu Sigma
I worked in Mu Sigma, a business analytics firm as a researcher in the field of big data. My primary job as a data scientist was to develop and code parallelized algorithms such that they may be run on a distributed architecture, particularly Hadoop.
Responsibilities
Implementing the following machine learning algorithms for big data using R on Hadoop
generalized linear model
exploratory data analysis
k-means clustering
Training
Supported Allstate with their big data project.
Was an organizational trainer for R, Hadoop, and related technologies.
Achievements
Was promoted to Senior Business Analyst (by Mu Sigma) within a year of joining.
Received two Spot Awards by Mu Sigma
Nov 2012: For the Generalized Linear Modeling package.
May 2012: For individual contribution to Allstateโs big data project.

Guided undergraduate mathematics students enrolled in the Capstone Course. This course is aimed at giving hands-on experience to students in solving real-world problems.
Projects
๐ 2019 Spring: Lead a team of 8 undergraduate mathematics majors to understand the basic principles of motor control in healthy individuals using recurrence quantification analysis. This project was guided by Prof. Nikita A. Kuznetsov.
๐ 2018 Summer: Lead a team of around 8 undergraduate computer science students to build a dashboard for LSU Athletetics. The dashboard featured easy data visualization and automated report generation.
๐ 2018 Spring: Worked with undergraduates and graduate students from the mathematics, kinesiology, and electrical engineering departments in a project to estimating health metrics using anthropometric values which were themselved computed using images generated using various 3D scanners.
