Thesis Title: Regioselective, Hydrazine-free Synthesis of Substituted Pyrazoles by Oxidative N–N Bond Formation.

• Developed a new method to make pyrazole via copper catalyzed oxidative N– N Bond Formation. • Optimized the reaction conditions and explored substrate scope. • Participated in the group meeting and discussion with other members. • Learned use of ElectraSyn 2.0 in organic synthesis. • Developed a new strategy to reduce N-nitroso compounds electrochemically.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Supervisor: Prof. Derrick L. J. Clive

• Collaborated with labmate to synthesize meta arylsulfanyl- and meta- (alkylsulfanyl)phenols from cyclohexane-1,3-diones. • Prepared and characterized different substrate scope of the reaction. • Participated in writing the paper. • Involved in synthesis of biologically active indolizidines and quinolizidines through a simple new method using proline as a starting material.

Masters Project

Supervisor: Prof. Tharmalingam Punniyamurthy

Project Title: Domino Strategy for the Synthesis of Trisubstituted Dihydro Pyrazoles. • Synthesized trisubstituted pyrazoles from hydrazone and epoxide by using lewis acid as catalyst. • Optimization study of the synthetic process and synthesized different kinds of hydrazones and epoxides derivatives.

Summer Research Project

Supervisor: Prof. Rabindranath Mukherjee

Project Title: Design and Synthesis of Phenol Based Terminally Tridentate Dinucleating Ligand (HL2) and It’s Iron Complex. • Synthesized 2,6- Bis{(2- (2-pyridyl)ethyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl}4- methylphenol, a phenol based terminally tridentate dinucleating ligand

• Prepared its Iron complexes. • Characterized them using different techniques e.g. 1HNMR, IR spectroscopy, ESI-MS spectra, and cyclic voltammetry.
