Given below are axioms on the practice of physics. These are a modification of the axioms by the mathematician Federico Ardila. Here is the link to the article 'Todos Cuentan' (= Everybody counts), where the axioms on mathematics were proposed.
Axiom 1. The potential to understand and contribute to physics is present across all groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, social, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2. Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering experiences with physics.
Axiom 3. Physics is a powerful and evolving way of understanding nature; its questions, methods, and applications can be shaped by different communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
These statements should not sound revolutionary. Yet, given many current practices in the physics community, they remain a pressing call to action.
