Bonjour! I'm Subhankar Maity (শুভঙ্কর মাইতি), a postdoctoral researcher currently working at the LyRIDS Lab, ECE Paris, in collaboration with Prof. Guilherme Medeiros Machado and Prof. Faiza Belbachir, as well as with the team of Prof. Omar Boucelma from the Aix-Marseille University, and the LIS-UMR-CNRS. Our research focuses on the theme Generative AI and Data Traceability.

I am also involved in the initiative Scaling Responsible AI Solutions (SRAIS), which focuses on promoting responsible AI practices and fostering both local and global impact.

I completed my PhD in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. My doctoral research focused on the fascinating intersection of Generative AI and Education, and explored innovative applications under the guidance of Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar at IIT Kharagpur. Beyond this, my interests span across Natural Language Processing, with a particular emphasis on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) in various domains such as healthcare, law, social media, and beyond.

During the last year of my PhD, I worked as a Human Frontier Collective Fellow at Scale AI, a leading GenAI company recently backed by Meta. During this 4-month remote internship at scale, I designed challenging, domain-specific problems and datasets to test cutting-edge generative AI models. I evaluated model outputs and provided insightful feedback (contributing to Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback, RLHF), which directly improved model accuracy, robustness, and overall performance.

Lately, one of my articles was featured in Stanford’s AI Hub for Education (SCALE Initiative, Accelerator for Learning). Additionally, two articles were featured by the University of Warwick, and one of our articles was highlighted in Yonsei University's Research Spotlight.

I participated in a collaborative study on scientific writing led by researchers from the Ohio State University, the University of Utah, and the Allen Institute for AI. This study advanced the understanding of how LLMs can support scientific writing. I was also a Perplexity Campus Partner for IIT Kharagpur, bringing the innovative agentic browser, Comet, to campus.

I am deeply committed to advancing the frontiers of AI and its real-world applications, striving to make meaningful contributions to academia, industry, and society alike!
