No painting experience needed – whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, everyone is welcome!

Come join me in this relaxed and playful introduction to surface pattern design. No experience needed, just curiosity and a love for making.

During this workshop, we’ll turn our own stories into patterns or single artprints. We start by gathering inspiration from things that feel close to us. For this workshop, I’ll invite you to bring one or a few personal items such as a photo, a letter, a postcard, a small object, a nature find, or something connected to a memory, a travel, or a loved place. Studio Boter will provide all other materials, so you can arrive with just your inspiration and an open mind. We will share our stories through sketching, drawing, painting or even writing.

After the workshop, I’ll take each of your artworks and digitally refine it into either a repeating pattern or a single art print, using Adobe Illustrator. I’ll work with your preferred color palette, adding a few small creative tweaks and variations of my own where needed. A little while later, you’ll receive your personalized digital design by email in high-resolution PNG and JPEG formats. I’ll also share a few helpful links and suggestions on how you can bring your design to life, such as printing it as an art print for you house or a pattern, on fabric, on stationery or on other personal items.

Learn punch-needling basics while creating your own tiny mask inspired by Romanian folklore that can scare away bad spirits, invite good fortune, or just look delightfully weird. 👹✨

Your mask might be a cat, a goat, a funky creature or a familiar face. That's totally up to you! Once finished, it can become a wall-hanging or even a wearable pin to guard you or a loved one throughout the year. 

No experience needed, just bring your imagination (and your glasses!). At the end we’ll glue the masks with liquid latex, so expect a slightly ammonia-like smell in the studio for a short while. It's not harmful, just not the best smell out there.

All materials are provided, plus snacks and tea to keep us fueled.

Workshop Jesmonite 

Jesmonite workshop bij Studio Boter - een avond vol Creativiteit en Groningse gezelligheid. Je bent van harte welkom!

Jesmonite, dé trend van dit moment. Kom ook en doe gezellig mee! Leer de basics van Jesmonite en maak je eigen homedeco. Tijdens deze 2,5u durende workshop, word je stap voor stap begeleid, zodat je nieuwe creatieve technieken leert en prachtige woondecoraties maakt, die je dezelfde avond nog mee naar huis kunt nemen!

Om je een indruk te geven:

Tijdens deze avond maak je je eigen Terrazzo en twee woonitems. We maken hierbij gebruik van Jesmonite -een milieuvriendelijk watergedragen hars-, om op die manier de terrazzo-look van Italiaanse tegels na te kunnen bootsen. Je wordt onder vakkundige leiding stap voor stap door het proces geloodst; van kleuren kiezen en mengen, terrazzo-chips maken, tot het product wegen, mengen, gieten en afwerken. Aan het eind van de workshop is jouw werk klaar om mee naar huis te nemen. 

Workshop highlights:

-       Alle materialen zijn aanwezig, thee en lekkers inbegrepen in de prijs. 

-       Beginners workshop, dus ook erg geschikt voor iedereen die zichzelf niet creatief noemt.

-       Aan het einde van de workshop neem je jouw werk mee naar huis.

Workshop Drawing Cats with Studio Cat-She 

Hello, fellow cat lovers!

Would you like to create a portrait of your favourite four-legged friend? Join this workshop and leave with a collection of self-drawn cats you can be proud of! 

This workshop is about having fun while drawing cats in all shapes & sizes. I'll guide you with helpful tips and inspiring examples. Together, we'll capture the typical characteristics of cats: graceful, funny, athletic cross-eyed, and delightfully floppy—just as only a cat can be. We will be using pencils or another medium of choice. I've been illustrating colourful cats of all shapes and sizes for a long time, and I'm excited to share this experience with you! 

Whether you're a seasoned artist or picking up a pencil for the first time, you'll discover that drawing cats is easier (and more fun!) than you might think.

Tijdens deze boekbindworkshop werk je met circulair materiaal. Trudie biedt elke maand een andere boekbindtechniek aan. Deze maand is dat Japans boekbinden.

Met papier van oude FLOW Magazines of andere tijdschriften maak je zelf een uniek en persoonlijk omslag voor je boekje. Je mag ook een tijdschrift, atlas, folder, affiche of ander oud papier meenemen, ter plekke kijken we hoe je het kunt toepassen.

Voor de vulling van je boekje neem ik verschillende setjes duurzaam papier mee waaronder bermgras- en tulpenbollenpapier en natuurlijk verschillende mooie kleuren linnen boekbindgaren. Al het gereedschap dat je nodig hebt voor het boekbinden is verder ook aanwezig. En er is thee met wat lekkers erbij.

Aanmelden voor deze workshop kan door een mailtje te sturen naar Trudie via mail@bijzondereboekjes.nl met vermelding van naam, telefoonnummer, met hoeveel personen je mee wilt doen en op welke datum. Maximaal aantal deelnemers: 6 personen.
