Workshop 1.0 - Daily Report
Day 4
20th March, 2022
20th March, 2022
Day 4 is when the true circularity of each product is put to the test because, in the afternoon, the participant’s task was to disassemble their works and pack them into the A4-size envelopes that were provided on Day 1.
In the morning, participants also reflected on the past three days to connect their learnings from the workshop to their future works.
The goal for the final day was to help participants to think beyond the workshop and to encourage application of their learnings from the WS to their practices in school and more. We aimed to reach the goal in two ways;
Reflection by the participants
Encourage students to reflect on their findings from the workshop and think about which part of (circular) design they are interested in to further investigate and take part in.
Providing of further references by the organizers
In response to the participants’ interests, we provided references as starting points in their further research.
In the afternoon, participants disassembled their items* and tried to pack them into A4-size envelopes which were provided on Day 1.

Disassemble for Recycling & Transport
All items were successfully disassembled for recycling. However, participants struggled to fit some of their disassembled works into the A4 envelopes provided.
Vase - Easy disassembly as it is mono-material and the fused side can be torn apart by hand. Small enough to fit the envelope by additional folding.
Basket - Easy assembly, disassembly, and re-assembly. The small size basket fit in the A4 but the larger basket did not.
Lamp Shade - Easy assembly, disassembly, and re-assembly. The metal wire can be taken off and the shade itself does not have to be fully disassembled as the thread sewn through the material can be recycled together.
Hanging Lamp Shade - Easy assembly, disassembly and re-assembly. Recycling is not a problem as it is mono-material and it folds nicely into the A4 envelope.
Tapestry - Difficult to disassemble, but this is not required since it can be recycled as is.
Handbag - Disassembly not required as it can be recycled as is.
▲Participants attempt to fit each of their works in to the envelopes.
▲Simple cuts made product easy for assembly, disassembly and re-assembly.
All of the prototypes could be disassembled down to one material or a recyclable unit (▲WFRP sheets + wire).
