After rapid prototyping on Day 1, the participants took apart their lamp prototype to create their final lamp shade. They later commented on the dilemma of prototyping in the design process as more iterations and prototypes are made, more waste is created. Due to materials being limited, students were forced to be smart with their prototypes and material use. As one participant put it “Design for Disassembly means Disassemble-able Prototypes”.
The heat-cutter method was further developed on Day 2 and all vases were completed.
Multi-material tests.
Check out the exhibition and see all the item in day 3!
