Did you know that 70-80% of your revenue will result from personal fundraising? A personal ask is simply an ask for a donation done by sending letters, emails, over the phone, or in person. This is a crucial piece of your campaign and we have resources, tips & tricks to help you be successful!
Everything starts here and it is potentially the single more important aspect of your campaign
Plan ahead and collect phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses WELL BEFORE the campaign kicks off!
Schedule at least 30 minutes a week with your parents building this list!
Brainstorm a list of all the people you plan to send emails, letters, phone calls, texts, etc.
Family
Friends
Neighbors
Coaches, Instructors, Trainers, etc.
Teachers
Parents co-workers
Letters and emails are a highly effective and efficient fundraising method!
Each team needs to send at least 200 letters to achieve Hall of Fame status
LLS will provide postage for up to 200 letters for each candidate team. Make sure you take advantage of this!
Some people may not have a computer (gasp!) OR just LOVE mail, so send them a letter with a PERSONAL note from you!
Make your message honest and compelling
Share your WHY! Connect people with your passion - MAKE IT PERSONAL! Share facts about LLS and your reasons for supporting the cause.
Share your fundraising goal - show that you're doing something big and need their help in a big way! Set a deadline for donations.
Tell your recipient that their gift is fully tax-deductible.
Provide your URL or QR code for online donations (supporters tend to donate 20% more online!)
Don't now how to start or what to write? Never fear because we have templates!
Weekly emails - an email AND social media post for all 7 weeks fo the campaign
