Kimora Etheridge - Co-Founder, StudentStem-NC
Hello! My name is Kimora Etheridge, and I'm a sophomore at Cox Mill High School. I’m passionate about exploring career paths, STEM subjects, and unique opportunities for high school students! I also believe in the importance of balance and relaxation, so in my free time, I like to watch movies, hang out with friends, and practice for color guard competitions. After finishing my first year of high school, I realized that many students, including myself, struggled to find mentors or guidance to help us make informed decisions. Too often, we’re left to figure things out on our own. After a lot of reflection and brainstorming, Arissa and I created StudentSTEM-NC! A program designed to connect students with real role models in science and medicine. Through SSNC, I hope to make the high school journey more supported, smooth, and successful. I’m so excited to lead this initiative and help other students like me feel more confident about their futures!
Arissa Myers - Co-Founder, StudentStem-NC
My name is Arissa Myers, and i'm a 15-year-old Sophomore at Cox Mill High School. I'm passionate about science, service, and making the world a better place. Outside of the classroom , I play the flute, compete in color guard with our schools marching band and during the spring I play on the school soccer team. I also am fluent in Mandarin and love learning about different cultures. In the future I will become a surgical oncologist so I can help save lives and support families during some of their hardest moments. I co-founded StudentStem-NC with my best friend to help underrepresented students across North Carolina find/meet mentorship, opportunity, and confidence in STEM, because we all deserve to see ourselves in the future we dream of !!
