Eat Green Week

What is Eat Green Week?

Eat Green Week is an initiative run by the Students for Sustainable Food VIP that aims to raise awareness to the university community about including sustainable foods into their current lifestyles.

It runs 14-28 February 2022 and includes promotions such as FREE vegan chocolate at the VIP stand, FREE coffee in the Parade (when buying vegan cake), and BIG DISCOUNTS on selected vegan foods in Fresh and Market shops.

The start of semester 2 can be considered to many amongst the university community as a ‘moment of change’ as the exam and assessment period has just finished and new modules are beginning. Capitalising on the 'fresh start effect', referring to the tendency we have to take action towards achieving a goal after a special occasion or key date has passed, this week aims to promote towards those in the university community to make more sustainable food choices and overall cut down their food waste.

A stand on the parade will have an interactive game to help inform people about the impact a sustainable diet can have, alongside vouchers and discounts of vegan food/drinks to help show individuals what options of sustainable food are available on campus.

This is alongside an online campaign that provides further resources and links to help show the university community that a sustainable diet is not simply idealisation but is very much a possibility.
