The student plans, executes, and reports the results of their independent research or study project under the direction of a faculty supervisor.
Each course is one semester long, but will still give you the ability to collaborate with a supervisor on a specific topic in-depth.
Both courses can be taken up to two times.
*It is recommended that you complete an independent study with the same professor for a whole year (fall+winter term) in order to be equivalent with an honours degree.
The student is assigned to a psychologist in a public, private, or non-profit program where they apply their knowledge of abnormal psychology in a supervised field placement.
The placement is coordinated by Dr. Lori Harper and interested students should contact Dr. Harper at PsychologyPlacement@macewan.ca for more information.
Possibility for continued work experience!
Note: This course enrollment is determined through an application process. Deadlines are usually mid-term during the semester prior to the course being run.
The student works under a faculty member's lab to complete various research related tasks.
Email professors who you are interested in and see if they have availability in their lab.
