Supervisory TRACKING
Supervisory Tracking
Supervisory Tracking is intended for staff who manage student progress. Supervisory Tracking enables a university to track how well its staff and students are performing planned activities. The Supervisory Tracking can be set up to be tracked at 5 levels:
Student
Supervisor (with several students)
Department (with several supervisors)
Faculty (with several departments)
College (with several faculties)
Thus, a supervisor can see the student's progress. The head-of-department can see the supervisors. The dean can see the various departments, etc.
Hierarchy
AsterWrite can track students for five levels. Shown here is a sample of 5 levels that is easily customized. In the diagram below:
Student MacPherson is 262.5 hrs behind time. Student Michelle is 0.0 hrs behind time. So, Supervisor Dr Sheila is 262.5 hrs behind time.
Student Apostoulos is 0.0 hrs behind time. But Sarah is 1257.5 hrs behind time. So Supervisor Dr Abrams is 1257.5 hrs behind time.
That makes Inpatients (Head of Department) Prof Russel 1520 hrs behind time. Similarly, Operations (Head of Department) Dr Daniellea is 95 hrs behind time.
The Dean, Faculty of Urology, Condoliza is 1615 hrs behind time.
The Director, School of Medicine, Rebeca is 1615 hrs behind time.
The Research Degrees Committee can now see where the bottleneck is.
Overview
AsterWrite can track students for five levels. Information about a student is easily and readily available. Progress can be seen for the duration of the student's program. Current status is also available in detail formats including: timeliness, work completed and proportion completed.
Corrective Action Reporting
AsterWrite also has a mechanism to share student files for corrective action reporting.
Student works on a document, e.g. proposal
Student submits document to supervisor.
Supervisor reviews and comments on any corrective action needed.
Supervisor submits document to student.
Student makes changes to original document.
Student re-submits document to supervisor.
Supervisor reviews and accepts document or repeats the process for another cycle of correction.
