Clinic Directors
Student-Run Clinic Directors are responsible for overseeing the clinic committees, directing the flow of students and physicians during clinic night, and tracking volunteer follow-up attempts. Additionally, they coordinate volunteer training sessions in the Spring and Fall trimesters, meet with the clinic’s physician advisor, Dr. Harry Morris, and collaborate with committee leaders on projects to improve the quality of care we provide for our patients.
Logistics
Logistics' goal is to set up an efficient and effective environment for the volunteers and patients taking part in the Student-Run Clinic's endeavors. This includes keeping track of inventory at the clinic sites while also documenting the roster of cleared students volunteering and following up with their respective patients in accordance to proper protocol. The Logistics Committee is also tasked with providing up-to-date announcements for the greater PCOM student body about the clinic's future goals and missions via the website and emails.
Education
The Education Committee compiles educational material to hand out at clinic or to present to patients at the clinic. Examples of these materials include brochures about common maladies such as hypertension, diabetes or proper hygiene techniques. Education also plans activities for children during active clinic hours while collaborating with the other clinic committees to meet the educational needs of the patients by bringing in external resources if necessary.
Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee is responsible for determining what resources the patients at the clinic are in need of most. In collaboration with Lankenau's Medical Health Advocate Program, Advocacy compiles resources and handouts to help patients get connected with things like dental care, mental health aid, childcare, transportation services, employment services and optometry. The goal is to identify and alleviate factors that are barriers against achieving optimal patient health. Advocacy also conducts the exit interview on the patient's clinic visit in order to provide the necessary resources in areas that need follow-up.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee’s mission is to address the financial needs of the Student-Run Clinic. We are faced with the financial burden of maintaining our supplies and building our infrastructure as we continue to grow. Our goal is to find diverse opportunities to raise money within our campus and community, as well as explore larger grant opportunities through outside organizations. Future ideas include events at local restaurants, businesses and PCOM campus fundraisers.
