Planning is essential for every project; every step of every project will benefit from a well thought out plan. Demolition is messy, how will you cope with the dust? Ordered materials entail lead times, how soon ought such orders be finalized? Cabinets and floors want to acclimate to a home's humidity, where will these be stored? While logistical mapping can seem overwhelming, it need not be. Having a good plan helps a great deal, but even more important is an open line of communication with your contractor. Expect regular updates and constant dialogue.
