A 500-1000 word essay explaining 

• your situation as a single mom 

  • up to 5 points awarded for character traits exemplified by STRIVE, Talented, Resourceful, Independent, Empowered

• how this scholarship will help you 

  • up to 5 points awarded for explanation of how this award helps in your personal educational journey while you demonstrate character traits exemplified by STRIVE, Talented, Resourceful, Independent, Empowered.

• what you envision in your future when you graduate 

  • up to 5 points awarded for a description of future after graduation that demonstrates characteristics of STRIVE, Talented, Resourceful, Independent and Empowered.

• how you will help others when you are ready 

  • up to 5 points awarded for describing a clear vision of how you will help other single moms pursue an education after you graduate using the STRIVE character traits, Talented, Resourceful, Independent and Empowered.

Applications accepted until May 26th for the Fall 2023 Semester and will be reviewed by a small panel.  Applicants will be invited for a zoom interview between May 30th-June 30, 2023.  All applicants will be notified of award status by July 14, 2023.

Recipients will be invited to a simple award ceremony and our hope is that over time, STRIVE recipients will help support other moms receiving the award in the future and graduations and milestones can be celebrated together.  

Recipients can reapply for award one time.
