Strictly 4U Beginners Workshops

You are warmly invited to join our Beginners Workshops, in partnership with Get Moving Cambridge, weekly on Tuesday evenings (7.45pm- 8.40pm) in the Nightingale Pavilion CB1 8SG on selected dates as advertised.  

We are running an introductory Taster Workshop on:

COST - FREE to participate!

Following this, you are invited to sign up for a block of workshops (5 consecutive weeks) for optimal week-to-week continuity and practise.  Drop-in visitors to single workshops can be accommodated if space is available.  New blocks start in September, November, January, March and May.  Our workshops are suitable for:

• Absolute beginners (without any prior experience) to learn the basics

• Continuing beginners (attended previous blocks) to recap and step up to the next level

• "Rusty returners" with previous dance experience (perhaps many years ago) to re-awaken dormant skills

We initially prioritise popular "Strictly" dances such as Waltz, Cha Cha, social foxtrot and Tango, then as the dance year progresses, further dances such as jive, samba, quickstep and rumba are introduced.  We include practise nights throughout the year to provide enjoyable practise opportunities in a friendly environment with inspirational dance music from "golden era" classics and up-to-date pop

• Over 18s pairs or singles.  We aim to get singles dancing with a spare partner, tutor or helper

• Small group size for individual attention

• Practise to inspiring music

• Hosted at the Nightingale Pavilion, CB1 8SG (near Addenbrookes) with modern facilities, air con, free on-street parking

• Clothing that allows free movement is recommended. Specialised dance shoes are not required

• Water bottles can be re-filled in the kitchen

• Experienced workshop leaders, Tony Cronshaw and James Goddard (plus helpers) for a friendly atmosphere and a touch of humour
