To promote women's 50% representation rather than token representation in all professional bodies.
Eliminate gender discrepancy in terms of recruitment, wage, workload, promotion, designation, etc.
To work towards making allies (Male/Other LIS professionals who support)
To publish a Women’s LIS Professionals Directory.
To develop a pool of women resource persons and provide talented women professionals an unbiased platform for those who have minimal to no exposure in LIS community.
To conduct various literacy, awareness and training programs as well as workshops, seminars, conferences etc. to update women LIS professionals. This platform will encourage collaborative programs too.
To motivate and mentor professionals at all levels to succeed in scholarly communication and also in securing Scholarships, Projects, Awards, etc in India and Abroad.
To act as a platform for mentoring those women LIS professionals who want to pursue PhD by providing sessions to guide in writing synopsis etc. by strictly following ethical ways to do research.
To act as a platform for presenting opportunities to unemployed women or who had a career break due to marriage and pregnancy to get back into active full time/part time/freelance employment.
To provide retired LIS professionals (female/male/other) a platform to leverage their expertise and provide mentorship to all LIS professionals.
Promote, appreciate and acknowledge achievements and efforts of women LIS professionals in all portals, platforms and various media including Social Media.
To encourage women to take on leadership roles in Local, National and International platforms.
To initiate in writing a Code of Conduct for LIS Professionals of India (out of 193 countries of the World 80 countries have their code and have been uploaded on IFLA's website).
