Pierantonio Bertuccio is pursuing a PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of Politecnico di Torino. During his academic path at the same institution, he developed his interests in space Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). This was also highlighted in his master’s thesis, titled "Optimization-Based Trajectory Planning with Adaptive SMC for Space Applications." After completing his degree, he gained professional experience through an internship at TXT E-tech, where he worked on flight modeling, simulators, and system analysis. In November 2024, Pierantonio began his doctoral studies, focusing on the development of advanced distributed control systems for satellite formation flight. His research is centered on designing innovative algorithms to manage fleets of satellites engaged in operations involving uncooperative targets.
Research topics:
Autonomous Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) for Space Missions
Spacecraft Rendezvous and Proximity Operations
Distributed Control for space formation flying
