Davide Celestini is a PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of Politecnico di Torino. During his university course, he took part in the aeronautical project of the student team Team S55, focused on the realization of an historical seaplane flying scale model. He received his Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering on April 2021, with a thesis developed in collaboration with Thales Alenia Space. The work focused on Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithms suitable for autonomous space proximity operations and exploited Harmonic Artificial Potential Fields for path-planning purposes and Sliding-Mode techniques for both state and disturbances estimation and position control. After the graduation, he started working at DIMEAS on a research activity in collaboration with Leonardo focused on path and trajectory planning for UAV’s swarms missions. In November 2021, he started his PhD program and he is currently working on the design and control of autonomous and intelligent robotic systems.
