Board & Event Chairs
The SMS PTO is run exclusively through parent and community volunteers and is incorporated as a non-profit Section 501(c)3 organization. We allow for a 12-person Board (maximum), all volunteers, and generally meet on the first Tuesday of every month (September-June) to review purchase requests, plan for upcoming events, and discuss new ideas, proposals, and feedback. The Board is elected in the Spring for the upcoming school year. In the event a Board seat becomes available during the school year, a replacement member can be elected to fulfill the remaining term.
