UBER VOUCHER PROGRAM: INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS
Submit a CCE Supplemental Transportation Request Form. This form is brief and self-explanatory; just be sure to select “Community-Based Learning Course” on the drop-down menu under “Program/Class Association.”
Schedule a 15-minute Transportation Consultation with CCE Staffer Georgia Osborne. Georgia will be in touch to set up this meeting once she has received your Supplemental Transportation Request.
Attend your 15-minute Transportation Consultation with Georgia. This is a short-and-sweet meeting in which Georgia will get you set up in the Uber voucher system. Please note that there is no remote option for this meeting; it must take place in person at a time when Georgia is available.
You should each fill out your own Supplemental Transportation Request form (linked above), but are welcome to coordinate and come in together to meet with Georgia. If you’ve used the CCE’s Uber voucher program in the past, we’ll still need to set you up fresh this semester, so please do still complete steps 1–3 above. If you have any questions about the Uber voucher program or processes, please email Sarah Adams (sadams3@richmond.edu).
Learning Goals:
to experience how stories can build a bridge between people
to improve skills related to oral storytelling so that students are comfortable telling a story
Intended Outcomes include:
1. UR students and Bon Air residents will develop a healthy, short term, peer to peer relationship, which includes saying good bye after our project is finished.
2. UR students and Bon Air residents will be able to utilize self-reflection to tell stories from their own lives in a group and in an individual setting.
3. UR students and Bon Air residents will practice positive communication skills such as making eye contact, using complete sentences, setting appropriate boundaries, and understanding verbal and non-verbal cues.
