What is the Transmedia:

Transmedia storytelling (also known as transmedia narrative or multiplatform storytelling) is the technique of telling a single story or story experience across multiple platforms and formats using current digital technologies.

How the Transmedia works:

A story's elements are spread across multiple media channels.
Each new text contributes something unique to the whole story.
The goal is to create a unified experience for the audience.

Examples:

Star Wars includes films, TV shows, novels, video games, and more.
Harry Potter includes books, movies, and theme parks.
The Matrix includes comic books, video games, and animated films.
Game of Thrones includes books, TV shows, and video games.
