National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually, thanks to the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Each year, one book is selected to be read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centers, family homes, bookshops and many other places around Australia and New Zealand.

Enjoy stories, songs, and fun learning activities in multiple languages with your kids! Whether your child is a baby, toddler or preschooler, free story time and early learning programs are a great way to develop learning, literacy, and language skills as well as build community with other families

Kaleidoscope play and learn offers a chance for children and their families to come play and have a good time. Children listen to multilingual stories, sing songs and do simple crafts with their caregivers during the group time. Families learn about their child's development and community resources available to them.

Story times give your child the chance to experience fun activities while building a love of reading and books! Joining your friends and neighbors at story time can also develop social skills in a friendly, welcoming space.

Your Fort Worth Public Library story times are based on the Every Child Ready to Read method that identifies skills that help children learn to read and five practices that enhance those skills: talking, singing, reading, playing and writing!

At Music and Movement, singing songs and practicing movement activities builds language, motor, and social and emotional skills. This story time is intended for children 3-5 years old and their grown-ups.

5. Read during mealtimes or bath time.

Sometimes I read to the kids during dinnertime (now that they can both feed themselves) or at bath time. Since they are either strapped into their high chairs or sitting in the tub there is no where else for them to go. They have no choice but to sit (or stand in the tub) and listen.

6. Keep their hands occupied.

This is one of the best tips I learned from reading books and listening to podcasts. Keeping their hands busy during story time works wonders. You can give kids things like paper and crayons, Playdoh, yarn, blocks, Legos, pom poms, or anything that will keep their little hands occupied while you read.

Kids will love visiting Phipps to listen to our storyteller weave tales about gardens, fruits, vegetables, animals and other fun topics. Attend weekly sessions with a special child in your life! Each session lasts 30 minutes.

Every Saturday morning, at 10:30 a.m., join us for a story reading that relates to a work of art. Come gather in the galleries to hear a story and to create drawings together inspired by what you have seen and heard.

Librarians and library staff will read tales and lead activities perfect for infants through 5-year-olds at library green spaces and parks. Join in songs, fingerplays, and story boards to spark your child's imagination and communication and reading skills.

CCPL Story Times are developed by trained staff to promote early literacy skills and nurture your child's development. Ninety percent of brain development happens between ages 0-5. Attending and participating in story time helps your child learn valuable social-emotional and language skills, including learning new vocabulary, making connections between words and sounds, developing find and gross motor skills and practicing interacting with others.

Dial 833-690-0646 to hear a story read in both English and Spanish. Each Wednesday, a new story will be available to listeners around the state. The stories will be a rotation of recent picture books, fairy tales and folk tales, books highlighting equity, diversity and inclusion, and classic picture books. Over 25 volunteers have signed up to read the stories in Spanish. This program, offered 24/7, presents an analog opportunity for strengthening reading readiness using picture books and telephone technology.

Make reading a part of each day. Reading for any length of time helps your child learn concepts they will need later for school, and it is a great opportunity for you and your child to spend time together.

Please join us at the Freight & Salvage, one of Berkeley's oldest and most beloved music venues, for a special musical story time series with the Berkeley Public Library's Story Time Band. These FREE events will take place *every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from November 2023 through March 2024. Each session will feature live music, movement activities, and read-aloud stories for children ages 2-7. See you there!

They have since brought their musical story time to numerous elementary school classrooms and libraries, and have performed at public parks throughout the city where over 150 children and their caregivers regularly attend their weekly events. In January of 2023, they began an artist residency at Freight & Salvage and performed at both this year's Berkeley Bay Festival and Bay Area Book Festival.

The Library offers a variety of story time events. According to Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing is important for developing early literacy skills.

The Rockford Public Library will be bringing the library to you with its brand-new Mobile Library Service! We will be visiting the Anderson Japanese Gardens for a special storytime! The Mobile Library Staff will read two books and sing songs and do a fingerplay each week. Each child that attends will get a Grab and Go Craft Packet to go along with the theme of the week.

Nature Play will take place the Thursday after each story time through July 27, except for April 13 and May 25. Families with kids ages 2-8 can meet at the stage area near the Education Center at 10 a.m. and engage in sensory activities that reinforce the beginning stages of learning in an outdoor setting.

Kids and caregivers - enjoy Storytime for ages 2-8 designed for individuals that are neurodiverse and/or have sensory needs. Storytime will be structured and include singing, and books read by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Sensory toys will be available for any child that needs them.

York County Libraries offers story times across the county for young children ages birth to preschool. With our interactive Story Time sessions at the library, children have a fun and educational time through interactive play, games, music, and more!

Learning starts at home and through literacy-based story times, York County Libraries is a partner in education with parents and caregivers. Story Time staff model activities and provide tips that build early literacy skills, and they select books and activities that help develop the skills needed for young children to be ready to read: reading, singing, talking, writing and playing. Story Times provide opportunities for children to learn:

Literacy can be introduced to your child from before the day he or she was born. During Baby Story Time sessions, our library staff incorporate activities that encourage gross motor skills, pre-literacy skills, and social time for babies.

Bouncing Babies: This is a special program for babies ages 0 to 18 months. Activities include lap rhymes, songs, stories, and more. Each program concludes with playtime and exploration. Each program lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Family Storytime: This program is designed for children and their families. Activities include stories, songs, flannel board stories, action rhymes, and more. Each program concludes with a special craft kit. Each program lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Our story times are crafted with all children in mind! Children with varying learning styles and abilities will learn together in a safe and supportive environment where respect and appreciation for differences are encouraged and celebrated.

Our Cuddle Time is a great way to introduce your child to the joys of reading and language skills in a positive and fun atmosphere. These story times are designed so that caregivers and their children can actively engage with the books and songs, so participation is welcome!
