Salmon Cloud is the abbreviation of [SC]♾️, I originally started this idea in 2023 with Salmonid Clans as a competitive splatoon team idea, I was able to form 3 major teams, however I mismanaged it poorly as it fell apart due to my lack of accountability with reasoning with my teammates.
Ever since then I have mainly worked on incorporating the [SC] framework onto my channel into splatoon generally speaking. That is why almost every video and livestream has this branding to consolidate it as a fabric of my content and encourage others to use it equitably. I want salmon cloud to be a larger community although mostly confined to splatoon, as I feel Splatoon 3 could use more connectivity & less drama. There is also some rift between casual Splatoon players and more competitive ones broadly speaking, that is another gap I wish to close. I plan to upload or have uploaded guides on turf-war as well as various in-game ranked modes to aid new/casual players to improve and compete directly with those currently overshadowing them. Private battles will also be hosted for both practice matches & peaceful squid parties for more social interaction.
The following 5 tenets define this organization.
Establish a large Splatoon community that is can be considered it's owns bubble.
Provide a copyright free content source for creators to share, recreate, and uplift each other without barriers.
Allow the creation of a universal and coordinate enforcement system to remove people committing crimes or abuse within the community that everyone can adopt.
Create a safe space for political discussion, collaboration on projects (research, art, etc), tutoring for Splatoon or other life areas, and protection against online harassment or related violence.
Promote Splatoon to more people, and advocate for features that improve the online experience, creation of Splatoon fan projects, etc.
Generally if you want to make content for the community do use the [SC]♾️ on that specific content or on your channel profile whether it be thumbnails, stream overlays, inside videos, descriptions, on your account name, etc. One major requirement is that all content created for the Salmon Cloud community should have creative commons attribution, people can reuse their content if credit is given.
If the content is not made explicitly for Salmon cloud members, I wouldn't advise the [SC]♾️ branding, but you still may choose to use it. For your specific channel branding I would also use an emoji or icon to distinguish that content is your original content specifically, for example a channel "Splattershots of Doom" joined the community they could use a rocket in addition to the [SC]♾️ branding.
Do link back to this website so people can find other Salmon Cloud content creators besides myself. There will be a section for them with their channels listed.
For those who are simply members but not content creators, either an [SC]♾️ in your profile name, banner, or description would be sufficient to let us know you're in the community. You can simply insert "Member of Salmon Cloud" or "[SC]♾️ Member"
