As Mom aged, I saw that the effects of both her severe hemorrhagic stroke (2010; Beverly's Most Excellent Recovery) and her total blindness (2014) had made forming new memories difficult for her, but that her old memories were clearer than ever. In her final years (she passed in February of 2021), she shared stories with me about my childhood that I had either forgotten or had remembered differently.
