This policy explains what Storage Deep Clean ("the App", "we") collects, why, who receives it, and what choices you have.
1. Summary
- The App scans files on your device to find items you may want to remove. File contents are never uploaded.
- The App does not upload your photos, videos, documents, or the contents of your files.
- The App does send usage analytics and advertising-related data to third parties and to our own analytics endpoint.
- Some data is sent when the App starts, before you interact with any screen. See §4.
- The App shows ads. Ad personalisation for users in the EEA/UK is governed by a consent prompt (Google UMP).
2. Data we collect and send off your device
2.1 Our own analytics endpoint
The App includes an analytics component that reports usage events to an endpoint operated on our behalf.
- uuid: A random identifier generated by the App on first launch and stored locally. It is not your advertising ID, IMEI, Android ID, MAC address or phone number.
- app_id, app_version: Which app and version
- model, mobile_system_version: Device model and OS version
- country, language: Device locale settings
- event_name, event_time, page_name: Which screen was opened and when
- request_id, client_upload_time: Delivery bookkeeping
- event_data: Additional context for a small number of events — see below
Most events carry an empty event_data (they record only that a screen was opened). The events that carry additional context are:
- First install — your device language
- Install attribution — the name of the traffic platform only. The App deliberately does not upload the full referrer URL. Organic installs are reported as the literal value organic.
- Ad skipped — the reason the ad was skipped
- Daily launch count — how many times the App was opened the previous day
Events may be buffered locally and retried if the network is unavailable.
2.2 Advertising and attribution partners
The App integrates the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, and the data they collect is governed by it:
- Google AdMob: Advertising
- AppLovin MAX and its mediation networks: Advertising mediation
- Meta (Facebook): Install attribution (deferred app links)
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics): Usage analytics and crash reporting
- Google Play Install Referrer: Identifying which campaign led to the install
2.3 What we never send
- The contents of your files — photos, videos, documents, downloads
- File names or file paths
- The contents of notifications (see §3.3)
- Your contacts, messages, call logs, location, or accounts
3. Permissions and why the App asks for them
- All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): To scan your device storage for junk files, large files, empty folders and duplicate photos. Scanning reads file metadata (name, size, date, type) and, for images, image data — all on your device.
- Notification access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE): Only if you enable the Notification Manager feature. It lets the App list and dismiss notifications. Notification content is processed on your device and is not transmitted.
- Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): To show which apps use the most resources.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Cleaning reminders and progress notifications.
- Internet / network state: Ads and analytics.
- Run at startup, wake lock, ignore battery optimisation: Scheduled cleanup reminders.
You can revoke any of these in Android Settings. Revoking file access disables the cleaning features.
3.3 Notification access — specific commitment
If you enable Notification Manager, the App can read the notifications shown on your device. This content is used only to display and manage them inside the App. It is not uploaded, not stored beyond the App's local database, and not shared.
4. When data is collected
Analytics and advertising initialisation begin when the App process starts — before any screen is shown and before you interact with the App.
For users in the EEA and UK, ad personalisation is governed by a consent prompt (Google User Messaging Platform) shown at launch; ads are not requested until consent is resolved.
5. Data stored on your device
- Recycle bin records — the path, name, size and dimensions of photos you chose to clean up. The photos themselves are not moved or copied.: 30 days, then the file is deleted and the record removed
- Cleaning history — what was cleaned, how much space, when: Kept until you uninstall
- App preferences and counters: Kept until you uninstall
- Pending analytics events: Until successfully sent
Uninstalling the App removes all of this.
6. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to processing. Contact support@conveytradelimited.com.
Because our analytics identifier is a random value generated on your device and is not linked to your name, email or account, we may be unable to locate your data without that identifier.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and (in the EEA/UK) through the consent prompt shown in the App.
8. Security
Data in transit is sent over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Changes
We will post changes at https://sites.google.com/view/storage-deep-clean/privacy-policy and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified in the App.
