Fees, Insurance & Payments
Therapy sessions are 53 minutes unless otherwise scheduled.
Stoneybrook Behavior Health is a preferred provider with several major insurance carriers in both Michigan and Vermont and we will bill your insurance directly. Co-pays, deductibles and/or co-insurance are due at the time of service.
For those who wish to participate in therapy but pay privately, payment is due at the time of service. If you would like to try and receive reimbursement from insurance carriers with which we are not partnered, we will gladly provide you with the documentation you need to submit for possible out-of-network coverage with your carrier. We do not bill or submit paperwork to insurance companies with which we are not partnered and it is your responsibility to inquire with your carrier about your out-of-network coverage. Under certain circumstances, private-payment fees may be adjusted based upon a sliding fee scale. Income verification may be requested.
All clients are required to keep a current form of payment shared with Stoneybrook Behavior Health for the purposes of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and, if applicable, out-of-network payments or late-cancellation/no-show coverage.
24-Hour Cancellation/Missed Appointment Fee Policy
We value your time and ask that you please value your clinician's time as well. Please reach out as soon as possible via email whenever you need to cancel a therapy session, but no less than 24 hours before your scheduled time. This allows us adequate time to offer your spot to another client on our cancellation waiting list. Sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24 hour notice will be considered late and the card we have on file will be charged $75 at the time of your regularly scheduled appointment. This fee is not covered by insurance.
Confidentiality, Information & Privacy
Stoneybrook Behavior Health, PLLC offers confidential treatments meaning that information shared and notes taken are kept private and secure. Information is obtained, processed and stored in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. In instances where harm may come to you or a third party it may be necessary to breach confidentiality. Where possible, this will be done with your consent, however this cannot be guaranteed if it compromises the safety of you or a third party.
When working with children and young people, information disclosed by the child or young person will not be shared with parents/guardians, other than in the following instances:
The therapist and client agrees a format for information sharing (e.g., the client summarizing the session content, at the end of therapy sessions to a parent/guardian)
Where a serious risk of harm to the client, or a third party is disclosed, and sharing information is required to minimize this risk.
When working with families and couples, concerns shared by one party or the other are held in confidence with the therapeutic goal of determining how each individual can share/address their concerns in session with their family/partner. If trust among family members/partners does not allow for this type of discussion, emotional/physical safety and therapeutic goals will be reviewed for the purpose of determining if family/couples therapy is appropriate.
Information about a client primarily comes from the client themselves, in the therapy session. Throughout the session, informal notes are taken that relate to the content of sessions. These notes are used to summarize challenges, needs, goals and action items in a formal, electronic, encrypted, password-protected treatment plan. Only pertinent information related to goals and treatment are documented for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis, action planning and progress monitoring.
