I got involved in rugby in S3 as a way to try help control my anxieties. I came to the school rugby after one of my friends got me to go along with her but I instantly wanted to stay and keep playing.
Rugby has helped me build so new friendships as you had to put a lot of trust into your team mates. one of my best moments was the first game I played for the east Kilbride team when I ran up the pitch then got tackled by 3 girls in the opposing team, I heard my team mate shout here but I couldn't see where she was so I just threw it to the side and she caught it and scored a try. this was my best moment as my team mate put trust in me to get the ball to her.
i want to be a part of the school of rugby so I can help other people find things that can help them find a distraction for a while where they can just escape and put there all into rugby just as I did.
In the future I would love to keep volunteering as a rugby coach as I love to help people enjoy sports other than just see them as a chore they don't want to do but more of an enjoyable hobby.
